Name:                   Pawan Kumar Tiwari

Title:                    A Critical Analysis of Special Interest tourism in India

Summary

The objective of my dissertation report is an analysis of special interest tourism in India.

Tourism is a growing industry in India with coming of 2010 commonwealth games this industry is on boom. With respect to tourism, special interest tourism is also growing with encompass various special interest tours i.e. golfing, wildlife, mountaineering, etc. Group of people with narrow focus of interest in one hobby or special interest travel together to study their area of interest, compare notes, add to their knowledge and compile information.

Conclusions:

At the end of my dissertation report I conclude that with this special interest tourism is different from core tourism. Special interest tourism generally for peoples having very narrow focus in one hobby, travel together to study their area of interest, compare notes add to their knowledge and compile information. SIT helps in generating a massive economy for many states where generating economy from other areas was quite difficult, especially Orissa, west Bengal, Goa… etc

Implementing SIT needs analysis and bit more study because there are various disadvantages associated with SIT and cost is also a major factor.
